Meet Sarah, the founder and teacher of Satoyama Yoga
Sarah's journey began with Buddhist meditation in her late teens, and she's been practicing yoga since her early twenties. For the past nine years, she has had the joy of teaching various styles to students of all backgrounds.
A deep fascination with Eastern mysticism led Sarah across several Far East Asian countries. She lived in Japan, earned a bachelor's degree in Buddhist Studies from the University of Amsterdam, and studied yoga in India, Japan, and Australia.
In 2021, Sarah discovered Japanese Yoga—a practice that resonated with her immediately and quickly became her true passion. By 2023, she had completed her second yoga teacher training in this style bringing her total training up to 1,500 hours. It has since become the foundation of both her personal practice and her teaching.
Sarah finds deep purpose and joy in weaving together the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, core Buddhist principles like mindfulness, meditation, and ethical values of kindness and compassion, with the physical practice of yoga. Creating this holistic, accessible experience for others is at the heart of everything she teaches.
Sitting Meditation is an integrate part of Sarah’s personal practice.
